The Sun, Earth and the Moon

The Moon, once radiant with the light of love, now found herself shrouded in darkness, the wounds of a lost love etched deep into her heart. In search of solace, she turned to her closest confidant, the Sun, whose warmth had always been a source of comfort. As she spoke of the light that had abandoned her, leaving her to drift alone in the night, the Sun listened with quiet understanding, his gentle rays reaching out to soothe her pain. Though he couldn’t erase her sorrow, he offered her the hope of a new dawn, a reminder that even in the darkest of nights, there is always the promise of light.

Moon is pouring her heart out to the Sun about her falling out with the Earth, she sobs, ’Why me sun? Am I not good enough? Why earth expelled me from his heart?  The moon and earth held the heart-to-heart connection and had the stronger radiation for each other“. The Earth once said, “You know what keeps me the happiest”, it is the pure joy of just gazing at you.” That simple declaration would make the Moon blush so deeply that her light would shine just a bit brighter, becoming the reason Earth found the strength to face the struggles of life. Now, as the Moon reflects on those words, she finds herself thinking, “The same words that once made me glow now make me hesitate to shine in the sky at all.

The groaning Moon just like always found the emotional brace by her dear buddy- Sun. “Dear vibrant Sun, you have always made me stand upright no matter how hard the waves of adversities have hit upon me, you used to burn yourself in order to make me look even more beautiful than I already was, and when the other planets started to sneer at me, by mocking the scars, I entrusted you with the sacred task of ensuring that I remained a beacon of beauty and marvel for the entire universe” Moon said, her voice carrying a blend of nostalgia and melancholy. The Sun, with a calm and measured tone, responded, “And I embraced that role with all my heart, striving to let your light shine brilliantly across the cosmos and fill the universe with wonder, You will always be the person that I would burn for, and I would be the happiest to do it, you are my friend, Moon, anything for you.”

The ode of love didn’t end between the Moon and the Earth. A year back on the exact date and timings, the last soothe of tenderness was depicted in the words of Earth and Moon.

“Your arrival has been a signal of darkness over me each and every day,” Earth lamented, tears shimmering as he spoke. “While my people revel in the night’s starry embrace, I see how this hollow darkness chains them with fear, loneliness, and aching nostalgia.”

The Moon, caught in the chill of Earth’s discontent, struggled to understand the essence of her own existence, which flourished within that very darkness. Witnessing the pain unfold, Earth scribbled in her diary, “In a love story, the lovers know their tale; but when it fades, the entire world remembers it.”

As Sun arrived, he gently took the diary filled with their shared past from the Moon that was the love journal whch was owned by the Earth and Moon earlier. “To move beyond the harsh truths of our lives,” the Sun said softly, “we must also release the memories bound to them.” He repeated this with quiet resolve, hoping to help the Moon find peace in her life amidst the lingering shadows.

The relentless fury of tsunamis, earthquakes, and tornadoes battered the Earth, plunging him into a deep gloom as he watched his people struggle against these calamities. Amidst this despair, a voice within him whispered, “Nature isn’t unfair; it’s simply revealing that while the world may be imperfect, it hides a paradise within.” As he reflected on his past words, he remembered how he had undervalued the Moon’s role in bringing nights to his people. He realized that even the darkest nights could be a prelude to a brighter day.

This revelation brought a heavy sigh from Earth, as he recognized that he had not only shattered the Moon’s heart but his own as well. Forbidding himself from seeing what gave him strength was a torment beyond measure. As he witnessed the destruction of the world he had once nurtured, Earth murmured, “When you break your heart with your own hands, no remedy, no matter how powerful, can ever heal it.”

‘“I thought I meant the world to him,” the Moon wept to the Sun, her voice trembling with anguish. “How could he push me away so easily? Was our love just a fleeting illusion? Was I the only one who believed that nothing could come between us?” As the Moon’s sobs echoed through the cosmos, the Sun, drawn closer with each passing day, week, month, and year, offered solace and support, gradually helping her navigate her heartbreak. Their bond deepened over time, marked by endless conversations and shared moments.

From a distance, he watched the connection he once cherished slip away into the warmth of another’s light.

Earth’s eyes welled with tears, a mix of pride and sorrow. He whispered to the cosmos, “Even though she might find comfort and love elsewhere. She’ll feel the echoes of my love in the poems, stories, and books I gave her but that lacked the respect for her. Though I can’t be the Sun to shower her with glory, I take pride in knowing that every time she hears she’s as pretty as the Moon, it’s a piece of me she’ll carry. Letting her go was my greatest gift, ensuring she receives the best of everything, and that’s my honor, my pride.
