In the Pursuit of Heaven

A gash of radiant light broke through the cauldron-black sky. The screams of a daunting atmosphere overpowered the little 8-year-old boy named Joseph. He was frozen to see the molten-red blood flowing from the wounds of the people lying on the battleground. Joseph trembling and thrumming took himself in the search of his parents.

From the home he went off from his whole family- His parents and his elder sister named Kriya. The relentless bombardment propelled them to escape the town and displace them to find a safer place to dwell. The fear in their hearts augmented when they heard the sounds of skirmishes on their way. They kept on chasing a safer place with great valor. Abominable time knocked their life and the tremendous bomb exploded on the road they were on. The sight of Joseph’s father caught a cart. The parents of Joseph settled Joseph and his elder sister Kriya in a hideout nearby and went to bring that cart with a plan to rush to another town at a greater pace. A windstorm of fire arrows was skirling and sizzling through the bitumen-black sky. Joseph was watching stealthily the whole merciless picture of the battleground from the windowpane. Three hours had gone and these kids were waiting in a hideout for the parents to return with the cart. Swamped with waiting over there they stepped out fearfully and began searching for their parents. The heart of Kriya was throbbing heavily as she was sensing a bad omen. Joseph was in the traumatic phase while he was witnessing the bone-rattling battle scene. Kriya got her feet iced when she saw her parents lying on the ground, she ran towards them with Joseph and found her parents succumbed to the war.  The wind whipped their faces seeing this. The ground was steaming more pungent to them now.

A week later their aunt came to take the two stranded kids Joseph and Kriya moved with them. While leaving the hometown the tears from Kriya’s eyes were rolling down unhindered. The weight of the loss of parents shrouded them from all edges.

Two months passed. Joseph and Kriya were hiking with each passing day, these valiant souls were sagacious enough to drag themselves in their life. Joseph developed a loathing towards the people battling. Whenever he used to watch any movie or show where the war scene get projected Joseph start his vexation towards the wars.  He calls them repugnant, merciless, the act of selfish. He used to wonder how a border, a territory could just be a reason to open the spillway for the human’s blood, The precious thing of the world- the life of a human is put at the stake by the cold-blooded rulers. His thoughts engulfed by the benevolence were cryptical to swallow this fact of the world that determines the materialistic border more valuable than the life of a person. This has swayed him to discover another planet, a planet which will be devoid of quarrels, rapacious men, and heartless rulers, that propel the wars and wage them for attaining a mere piece of land.

Kriya and Joseph crossed this stage of their life with tremendous fortitude. Kriya was planning to move to their grandparents’ town. Poor Joseph and Kriya made up the decision to leave the town for their grandparents’ home on Sunday. They began packing their bags, the pathetic atmosphere was hampering them from doing their favorite work. They were always overjoyed to pack the bags and move to their grandparents’ house but this time was it was different. The somber sun of Sunday rouse. Joseph and Kriya with their bag and baggage sat in the car of their aunt and she drove them to Railway station.

The whistling sound of trains at the Railway station were symbolizing the commencing of a new phase of life mused Joseph. They wiped out this thought and continued accumulating the strength. Kriya held Joseph’s hand tenaciously. They sat at their chairs and bade farewell to their loving aunt. Both the siblings were perturbed. Kriya was trying to take a short nap while Joseph was picturizing the planet where confrontations are meant to be settled by negotiations and not bloodshed. After two hours of the journey one passenger came and sat at the vicinity of the Joseph. That man was amiable towards Joseph. That co-passenger broke the silence and interrogated Joseph about his studies, Joseph was always coveted to intermingle with the people around him so he also reverted in an amiable manner. They both conversed about the purpose of life, about the act of kindness, about the creation of the world, about the vibrancy of creatures and the creator. Joseph though was the little boy but he was always skeptical on the philosophical notions that satisfied his intellectual curiosity. The co-passenger was startled by the mindset of such a young boy who was just around 8 years old. “I bemoan on the cruelty that overrides the humanity of the people in power and the other haughty people who put the life of a human at stake for satiating their greed of exceeding their territory” uttered Joseph. The co-passenger concurred with the contemplating statement of the little boy Joseph. Joseph further elucidates that he would be discovering another planet out of seven planets that will project that life that Joseph was dreaming.

The co-passenger was overwhelmed with this notion laid down by Joseph and his answer swayed Joseph to dance over the moon. The man replied that he knew a place where Joseph’s imagination would be fully embraced. Joseph insisted the man to give a more detailed description of that place which was befitting in his frame. The man elucidated that is a abode of bliss where people are bowing in front of humanity. The rapacious fellows are not allowed to step in that place. The trees are merry when they are being treated kindly by human beings. The flowers are blooming in abundance because they know that their bloom is priceless for the people over there. The sky is the epitome of serenity because the pollution is venomous their people are cautious about causing to the pollution because they are not partisan of creating a satisfied present by putting the future in a sheer gloomy subway filled with careless acts. The garish evening there is studded with the rays of bliss and it is illuminated with peace. The satiation in the wealth people are bestowed with is the welcoming fume. The equality in wealth triggers equality in other aspects. The vivid aura of that place is churning the hatred among the people. The lust for expansion is booted out from that region. The humans possess apathy for each other they don’t dupe each other in terms of mental and non-mental aspects. The envy is swept away by the compassionate fellows. Joseph was galvanized by the manifestation of the place that his co-passenger was hinting. Joseph asked ‘Could you tell me the name of that region so that I may move to that place with my sister Kriya’? The man replied ‘Its name is Heaven, you don’t need to worry, I will take you there with myself you can also take your sister along with you’. Joseph said to that man I will be glad if you can tell me the route of Heaven, also don’t forget to tell me the landmarks so that I don’t get lost as I often get then it gets cumbersome for me to hunt for a place’. The man giggled, and he said Sure! I will.

Joseph was emboldened with the immense gratitude that he had ultimately discovered a place which is devoid of skirmishes and wars. He was swamped as from the last two nights he had sleepless nights due to the bewilderment of moving to their Grandparents’ town that Joseph and Kriya were planning. Joseph slept with a smiling face that was indicating the love that was embedded in his heart for a peace and a peaceful planet.

The wheels of the train were moving with the gushing flow of fresh memories that were geared up to emancipate Joseph from his malice past that had enveloped him. The man was so gleeful to see the sagacious child sitting near him. After two hours the train halted and the vociferous crowd intruded the peaceful sleep of Joseph. He woke up. The man informed Joseph that their destination is near to them. Kriya came to apprise Joseph about their station. ‘Next station is our station Joseph, be vigilant,’ said Kriya. She noticed the man sitting near Joseph she found the acquainted face and she began brainstorming to recall the name. Meanwhile, the co-passenger greeted Kriya warmly and uttered ‘ How are you, dear Kriya? Hope you are thriving with great audacity in the ordeals of life. Your father must be very proud of you both after beholding your valiant attitude towards life. Kriya reverted cordially and asked the name since she was trying to recall the name. The man replied ‘Your father’s dearest friend- Leo’. Kriya smiled tepidly as she was now able to revive the memories that she had created with the whole family of uncle Leo. They had multiple excursions together, the wave of memories hit the nostalgia and Kriya got teared up. Uncle Leo sympathized with Kriya.

Joseph was interrupted from the sound of conversation that Uncle Leo and Kriya were having. He woke up. Kriya introduced Joseph to that man whose name was Uncle Leo. Uncle Leo giggled and narrated the whole encounter that he had with Joseph during the journey. Since Joseph was a younger child so he couldn’t recall the memories with uncle Leo but he had the vague picture of that in his mind. Kriya informed Uncle Leo about their relaying to their grandparents’ town, uncle Leo was glad to hear this piece of news as he was also dwelling in that town for the last couple of months. Train’s whistles were blaring as it was about to stop at the station of Kingston district which was the destination of this trio. The train stopped, and Joseph, Kriya, and Uncle Leo get down from the train. Joseph’s eyes were gleaming with a hope to rekindle the journey of life. Uncle Leo asked both the siblings to come to his home. Joseph was overwhelmed to visit uncle Leo’s home because he pursued a planet devoid of wars and battles. Kriya left Joseph with Uncle Leo as he was adamant to go to Uncle Leo’s house first. Both Joseph and Uncle Leo headed toward the home.

Joseph saw the colossal building of brown color. He felt skeptical about the proclamation made by Uncle Leo. Joseph asked Uncle Leo how a mere building be a plant. Uncle Leo smiled lightly and took Joseph inside his home. At one nook of his home there was the long hallway which was featuring the life of a good souls. The bliss was shrouded in that place. The merriment was in the hearts of the people. The envious hearts were not allowed to survive in that region. The rapacious people were kicked out of that place as its repercussions were always venomous for the whole region. The generosity was the flowers that were blooming in full swing. The benevolence was the blanket covering the whole village with solace. People were open-heartedly welcoming each other. The rays of helping each other were shining vibrantly. Joseph was gladdened to observe all that but he asked Uncle Leo “ Why everything in this place is not breathing like us? Why they are not like us”. Uncle Leo replied “Because they are made up of clay and I am an amateur sculptor. But this is the demonstration of the heaven that exists solely for the good souls of this world who are righteous and are resisting themselves from the devilish feelings”. Joseph asked about the location of that heaven. Uncle Leo replied- “We all are in the expedition to hunt that place let’s do that together by walking on a path made up of good deeds”.
